Shared money.
Clear rules.

Group Treasury is building a clearer way for groups to collect, manage, spend and reconcile money for a shared purpose—without relying on cash, private accounts and spreadsheets.

Roles & visibility

The problem

Shared expenses deserve more than an informal system.

Today, class and trip budgets often move between cash, a private account, spreadsheets and messaging apps. The process is hard to follow for everyone involved.

The familiar workflow

Cash / private accountsSpreadsheetsMessagesManual reconciliation
  • Unclear ownership and responsibility
  • Private and group finances mixed together
  • Manual receipts and reconciliation
  • Awkward end-of-year refunds

Starting with schools

Two shared-money moments, one clearer model.

Our first intended workflows focus on the recurring and purpose-specific budgets school communities already manage together.

01 / Class Wallet

A shared class budget, maintained over the school year.

For teacher gifts, class events, picnics and other shared expenses—with a clear record for the group.

02 / Trip Wallet

A purpose-specific budget for a school trip.

For parent contributions, supplier payments, controlled spending, receipts and a final reconciliation of unused money.

These are intended product workflows; Group Treasury is currently in validation / pre-MVP.

How it works

A lifecycle everyone can follow.

From the first contribution to the final refund, a shared purpose should have a clear path.

01

Collect

Bring contributions for a shared purpose into one clear process.

02

Manage

Give the group a current view of its budget, activity and receipts.

03

Approve

Set roles and rules around decisions and spending.

04

Spend

Support controlled spending for the agreed group purpose.

05

Reconcile

Match spending with receipts and keep the record transparent.

06

Refund

Close the loop by reconciling any unused funds.

Governance, not another private account

Participation and permission should not be the same thing.

Group Treasury is designed to distinguish the people who take part in a shared budget from the people permitted to manage or spend it. A treasurer, teacher or organiser could have controlled permissions—without a shared budget simply becoming money in their personal account.

Financial infrastructure model

Software and governance, designed to work with regulated infrastructure.

The intended architecture separates the Group Treasury product layer from regulated financial services. The exact model remains subject to validation with financial institutions and legal counsel.

Group Treasury

Software & governance layer

  • Groups, membership and roles
  • Budgets, rules and approvals
  • Receipts, visibility and reconciliation workflows

Regulated financial partner

Financial infrastructure

  • Regulated account or wallet infrastructure
  • KYC/AML and safeguarding where applicable
  • Payment execution and payment infrastructure where applicable

Group Treasury is being designed as a software and governance layer integrated with regulated financial institutions. Group Treasury does not intend to hold customer funds.

Beyond schools

Shared money appears wherever groups organise together.

Schools are the initial focus. Over time, the underlying model may also be relevant to sports teams, camps, clubs, student groups, group travel, community groups and company offsites.
